Two losing bonus points in their final match against Huntingdon secured Newark's Midlands Division One East status on Saturday.

They went into the match knowing a point would be enough to secure their place in the league for another season.

In the end, despite falling to a 31-24 defeat, four tries and a seven-point losing margin earned them the points needed to confirm safety.

Their relegation rivals Mansfield were heavily beaten 97-7 away at Kettering, which means Newark comfortably avoided the drop by seven points.
