Newark Town registered their first point since October in their 3-3 draw with Askern in the Central Midlands North Division
Newark Town benefited from the bounce of a new manager as they raced to a 3-0 first-half lead in Damo Parkinson’s first game in charge.
However, opponents Askern spoilt the party with a solid second-half performance that saw three goals in five minutes to earn a draw.
Town took the lead through new signing Jamie Charlton, who scored in the eighth minute and ever-present Rhys Stanley doubled the lead in the 40th minute, before Charlton hit his second, and the Blues’ third, two minutes later.
Askern hit back through Alex Irwin and Josh Taylor (2) but there were still positives to take as Town registered their first point since mid-October in the Central Midlands North Division.
Elsewhere, third-placed Collingham played their first match in three weeks and came out 3-0 winners against Dinnington Town.
Callum Ward opened the scoring before Harry Troop fired a brace, his first the goal a brilliantly-executed lob.
