Will Orton takes a step back in the JCW Mini Challenge Championship after mechanical issues

Mechanical issues caused problems for 18-year-old dri-ver Will Orton during the third round of the JCW Mini Challenge at Snetterton.

"We came into the weekend with high expectations and after being P1 in the final session of practice it was all certainly looking likely that we'd live up to these goals," said Orton.

"With P2 in qualifying and P3 in race one, we had some credible results but the real drama came on the Sunday.

"Two engine cooling-related DNFs have put a halt to our momentum and consistency in the championship.

"However I look forward to making this right in round four at Oulton Park."

Despite the troubles at Snetterton, rookie Orton has had a strong start to his race season and he currently sits second in the championship.

Orton said he is determined to capture the lead again.

"I want to win it," he said.

"I want to show people my true talent and I want to showcase myself as a rising star in the world of motorsport."
