Newark mixed double teams compete at home in rain to Spalding

Last Saturday saw Newark mixed double teams compete at home in less than favourable weather.
Up against Spalding, the club took to the court in rainy conditions.
Sara Jackson/James Lalyk stormed ahead to take all four of their sets 6-1, 6-3 and 6-2, 6-1.
Katy Dines/Rich Hall were forced into third set tie-breaks, just losing out.
The scores were 7-6, 4-6 (8-10) and 4-6, 6-4 (9-11) which placed the team into a shoot-out.
The combined team of Lalyk/Dines formed and took to the courts to win the shoot-out 10-5, winning the day for Newark Tennis Club.
