Rugby returns for Newark and Southwell's first team after a week without fixtures




No rugby was played at Newark’s Kelham Road ground over the weekend due to a mid-week flood.

Newark’s under-15s squad did managed to make changes to play their fixture at Worksop School where they defeated Nottingham Corsairs 31-22 in the quarter-final of the Notts, Lincs, Derbys age group competition.

Newark’s first team resume their campaign in Midlands East North Two against Market Rasen this Saturday, kick-off at 3pm.

Newark 2nds host Dronfield in the Pennant League (3pm kick-off).

Southwell Rugby Club’s first were also without a fixture on compassionate grounds at the weekend.

Southwell welcome Ilkeston to Park Lane (3pm kick-off) as they return to action on Saturday.

Southwell 2nds will play in a reverse fixture as they travel to Ilkeston 2nds.
