Notfast supports Newark-based charity CASY and BESSO Children Home in India at annual awards
Notfast running club held its annual awards presentation — and made a donation to charity while doing so.
Club members gathered to run a variety of routes around Orston, across the lanes and muddy fields.
A presentation of awards followed, held in the village hall, with members being recognised for their achievements during 2021.
Club president Andy Watts presented the awards.
The runners recognised in each category were:
- Sportsman of the Year: Peter Lane
- Sportswoman of the Year: Anne White
- Club Member of the Year: Chris Redhead
- Club Runner of the Year: Simon Lock
- Most Outstanding Achievement: Anthony Cork
- Jogger and Plodder of the Year: Ros Haynes
- Special Award for consistent Running and Racing: Steve and Sue Needham
Gifts were presented to Angela Brown for her work in organising club social events, and Ann Manley for producing the club’s weekly newsletter.
Alongside the awards, Newark-based charity CASY was presented with a cheque for £800 by club chairman Jeremy Reichelt.
Jill Oakham, trustee for CASY, accepted the donation, which was raised by the club from the Ponton Plod — an event organised by Stuart Ashley.
The club has also donated money raised from the event to the BESSO Children Home in India.
