Southwell cyclist Ian Russell wins masters category at Darley Moor Closed Circuit
Ian Russell headlined for the district as he won the Masters E + Category Race at Darley Moor Closed Circuit.
The Southwell rider, of the Moda Race Team, was competing in round four of Ashfield Road Club’s Series.
Newark’s Jack Levick, racing for the Rose Race Team, also tasted success as he won Spalding Cycling Club’s 18.2-mile time trial on Sunday on an undulating and technical course between Edenham and Colsterworth.
He finished in 38-52, beating second place by over a minute.
He clocked an average speed of 28.094mph.
Also on Sunday, Isabel Darvill rode The Spatzwear Rayner Foundation Spring Races in the Women’s E/1/2/3 category race alongside her strong Pro-Noctis/Rotor/RedChilliBikes/HeidiKjeldsen team-mates to finish second on the podium.
Lincoln-based team-mate Corine Side won the race, which was held at Bodington Cycle Circuit at the University of Leeds.
