Former Newark Hockey Club player Shona McCallin scored her first international goal as England secured a fifth-place finish at the Champions Trophy in Argentina.

England were playing in the fifth-place play-off against China, after they had been knocked out by New Zealand in the quarter-final stage.

They achieved it with a dramatic shootout win, with McCallin scoring England's only goal in open play as the match finished 1-1.

A powerful cross fell to McCallin whose touch expertly deflected the ball into the roof of the net, scoring her first goal in an England shirt.

The team held their nerve to win 3-2 in the shootout.
