Successful return to the pool

There were 22 race wins and 30 personal bests to cap a positive first two weeks after the summer break for Newark Swimming Club.

In the first gala at Water Meadows, Mansfield, the club managed a sixth-placed finish with 17 separate personal bests.

Winners on the day were Jake Geary, Jacob Carrington and the boys’ relay team.

Round two of the campaign took place at Hucknall and the team put in a much-improved performance, winning the gala outright, ahead of Retford by 11 points, after picking up 19 wins and another 13 personal bests.

There were double wins for Fabio Incerti, Jake Geary, Joe McCallion, Elliot Snaith and Jacob Carrington.

Georgie Proctor, Grace R. Hearn, Emma Lucas, Josh R. Hearn, Sophie Trickett and Matt Stevens all won their races as well as the boys’ ten years relay, girls’ 12 years, and boys’ 12 years relay teams.
