Norwood Park Golf Course is producing some excellent golfers with Elizabeth Woods, Amelia Hogg and Maddie Smith all performing exceptionally in competition




It has been a great start to the season for young, female golfers across the district as several have achieved excellent results.

Golfers from the Norwood Park Golf Course are stepping up and turning heads in several different competitions as they establish a successful reputation for their club.

Maddie Smith won the under-21 FALDO series which was held at Brocket Hall.

Her win has ensured her a qualification for the Grand Final in Dubai in November.

Smith also achieved success as she won the County Ladies Champion Title at Coxmoor and is part of the England Golf Regional Squad.

She achieved several other accolades including being part of the winning trio from the club that helped secure the Spencer Watson Team Shield.

Smith played alongside Norwood Park junior captain Elizabeth Wilson and Charlie Inger to attain victory in the event for the third year running.

Smith who will be heading to the USA at the end of the year on a three year golf scholarship is finishing off her A levels at the Minster School.

Wilson won the under-16 Nottingham County Schools Championship and will now represent Minster School in the Midlands Schools Championship and in the under-16 Nationals.

Former junior captain Amelia Hogg, a regular county player who won the 36 Hole Nett Championship at the County competition is also set to join the 6th form at the Minster School later in the year.
