Newark hockey teams face tough challenges
NEWARK Hockey Club men’s first team lost 5-0 to West Bridgford.
And it was a similar story for the 2nds and 3rds as they also suffered defeats.
The seconds went down 10-0 to the University of Nottingham and the thirds lost 2-0 to Belper.
Despite a lack of experience in the Newark 3rds, they gave a good account of themselves against a well-organised opposition.
They held Belper to 0-0 at half-time but succumbed to the pressure of Belper’s persistence.
Newark Ladies’ 2nd’s lost 5-0 against a well-drilled Redhill side and the thirds lost 10-0 to Beeston.
The lady’s 4ths provided a shining light as they defeated Boots 8-1 in a great win for Newark as Kirsty Rose got her hat-trick. and there was a brace from Kitty Cameron.
