Newark Castle Archers enjoy success at Nottinghamshire County archery championships at Greasley Castle




Three members from Newark Castle archery club tasted success at the 2022 Nottinghamshire County Archery Championships.

York/Hereford rounds were implemented with Bristol rounds for the juniors.

The juniors participated in a variety of different age groups.

Mandie Elson shot six dozen arrows at 80 yards, four dozen at 60 yards and two dozen at 50 yards for a total

of 144 arrows fired.

She finished second in her event.

Fourteen-year-old Harry Weeks shot Bristol Two at distances of 60, 50 and 40 yards.

He achieved a score of 501 which was enough to secure him first place in his age category.

The Newark Castle Archers Club's youngest female archer, Rowan Cooper-Watts also won her age category.

The eight-year-old shot Bristol five at distances of 30, 20 and 10 yards scoring 556.

It was another personal best for Rowan, which made the win more special.
