Zoe Codd finished second in the veteran 40 female category in the Forme Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire league
Three cyclocross leagues returned to action following a short festive break.
On Saturday, in round nine of the Forme Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire league, Zoe Codd (Velo Club Flintham) finished 42nd in the mixed senior, junior and women’s race.
Further success came at the finish line as she realised she achieved second place in the veteran 40 female category.
The under-12s race saw three entries from Newark Castle Cycling Club, as Charles Hoyle, Sam Murcott and Oliver Gosling-Barr hoped to end the year in spectacular fashion.
Hoyle finished fourth, the highest for his club, while Gosling-Barr and Murcott finished 27th and 36th respectively.
Louis Inman, of Bolsover and District, finish second in the under-nines race.
In round six of the Leicestershire League, Charlotte Lissaman (Newark Castle) finished 12th overall and second among females.
Meanwhile, Isabel Darvill was racing in the Lincolnshire League for Velo Schil-Interbike Road Team and finished third in the combined women’s and juniors’ race.
In the under-12 race at the same event, Joshua Lane, racing for Witham Wheelers, finished seventh and younger brother Noah finished third in the under-nines.
