Norwood Park’s Elizabeth Wilson achieves first golfing cap for England as they defeat Switzerland

A junior programme continues to excel after one of its athletes has played for England.

Norwood Park Golf Club's junior captain Elizabeth Wilson was selected for the under-16 team and successfully played against Switzerland at Pannal Golf Club in Harrogate.

Wilson helped her country to victory as England achieved a 3.5-2.5 win over Switzerland.

"It is an amazing achievement and a first England cap for our club," said a Norwood Park spokesman.

"She is a stand-out golfer in her age group."

Wilson has also been selected for the Team Pro Dream programme which is an initiative that helps golfers achieve USA scholarships.

She is expected to be enrolled in 2026.

Earlier this year Wilson won the England Schools National Championship with rounds of 71 and 74 as she represented The Minster School in Southwell.

Last year she won the under-16 England Schools Championships and represented England Schools in the international fixture against Wales.
