Mixed results on the court for Newark Tennis Club in first matches of the winter season

A good start for the Newark Tennis Club ladies’ 1st team in their first match of the winter season saw them defeat Southwell 70-38.

There were plenty of close games, but the team led from the start and came away with a strong win.

The pairs of Sara Jackson/Steph Smith and Jen Brown/Dawn Cartledge were especially strong for Newark.

In a close match against Caunton, there was just a ten-game difference in the derby as Newark men’s 3rd team lost 59-49 at home.
