Newark Amateur Operatic Society prepare to perform The Addams Family at Robin Hood Theatre, Averham

There is a dinner date with a difference next week as Newark Amateur Operatic Society perform their latest production.

The Addams Family is staged at the Robin Hood Theatre, Averham, from Wednesday, October 19, to Saturday, October 22.

Wednesday Addams, the ultimate princess of darkness, has grown up and fallen in love with a sweet, smart man from a respectable family — a man her parents have never met.

And if that wasn’t upsetting enough, Wednesday confides in her father and begs him not to tell her mother. Now, Gomez Addams must do something he’s never done before — keep a secret from his beloved wife, Morticia.

Everything will change for the whole family on the fateful night they host a dinner for Wednesday’s “normal” boyfriend and his parents.

The cast is led by society newcomer James Fry, playing Gomez.

“We had great success with both the previous shows and hope we can continue the quality of our shows and another sell-out crowd for this next one

“We hope our audiences will support us again as we perform this show just in time for Halloween which really is a funny, family show with those classic characters and a great set of songs.

“I’m blessed with a great cast and crew again, who have all been busy over the summer rehearsing and also building our scenery, and we are building up to what will be a fantastic show.”
