Glenn Miller Orchestra returns to Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham
The world’s most popular big band The Glenn Miller Orchestra is back in Nottingham to help beat the post-Christmas blues.
Directed by music legend Ray McVay, it will transport the audience back to the 1940s big band era at the Royal Concert Hall on Friday (December 30), from 3pm.
It features the harmonies of the Moonlight Serenaders and the vocals of Catherine Sykes and Mark Porter, who has been singing with big bands since the age of 19.
The performance also includes the jazz sounds of The Uptown Hall Gang, an outstanding Dixieland group drawn from members of the orchestra.
And there will also be a tribute to the Rat Pack.
But at the centre of the show is, of course, the music of Glenn Miller and it will feature all of the band leaders most famous hits, including his signature tune Moonlight Serenade.
