Daphne’s Flight to play at Lowdham Village Hall on UK tour

A group of five strong women, five outstanding singing talents, five best friends, are brining their brand new album on tour.

A amalgamation of respected British musicians — Chris While, Helen Watson, Julie Matthews, Melanie Harrold, and Miranda Sykes — Daphne’s Flight will soar into Lowdham Village Hall on May 23.

It is part of a UK-wide tour of their brand new album Favourable Light, which is an eclectic mix of genres designed as a celebration of longevity, equality, empowerment and friendship.

The five-strong ensemble create a sound and energy which unites singer-songwriter, folk, blues and more, and promise a transferable joy and energy between stage and audience.

While they’re all respected artists individually, it is when they join forces on stage something magical happens.

Helen Watson has an enviable rock and roll pedigree, Chris While learned her craft in the folk clubs of northern England, Julie Matthews plied her trade in the piano bars of Europe, Melanie Harrold had a major deal in her past life as Joanna Carlin, while Miranda Sykes took up the double bass at the age of eight and is the long-time bassist and vocalist with Show Of Hands.

Each member of Daphne’s Flight is a survivor — of the music industry, of relationships, of demons, and of life — and channel it into an entirely positive collective force.
