Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood to play Miss Hannigan in Annie at Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham




Strictly Come Dancing judge Craig Revel Horwood has put the famous paddleboards away to return to the role of Miss Hannigan in the smash-hit musical Annie.

It is coming to the Royal Concert Hall, Nottingham, from June 12-17 as part of a UK and Ireland tour.

Set in 1930s New York during The Great Depression, brave young Annie is forced to live a life of misery and torment at Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.

Determined to find her real parents, her luck changes when she is chosen to spend Christmas at the residence of famous billionaire, Oliver Warbucks.

However, spiteful Miss Hannigan has other ideas and hatches a plan to spoil Annie’s search.

The musical features an award-winning book and score, including the unforgettable song It’s The Hard Knock Life,, Easy Street,I Don’t Need Anything But You, and Tomorrow.

Craig Revel Horwood is returning to a part he previously played in the West End and UK tour.

He is best known for being a judge on all 20 series of BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing, but has also choreographed Strictly Ballroom The Musical, which is currently touring the UK and Ireland, and the 2016-17 tour of Sister Act The Musical, as well as the Strictly Come Dancing Live tour.

Alongside him in the Annie cast is Alex Bourne as Oliver Warbucks - also returning to the role he played in the West End and on tour - Paul French as Rooster, Amelia Adams as Grace Farrell, and Billie-Kay as Lily St. Regis.

The title role of Annie is shared by Zoe Akinyosade, Harlie Barthram and Poppy Cunningham.

They are joined by three teams of young performers who play the residents of Miss Hannigan’s orphanage.
