Kings Of Leon 2024 world tour Can We Please Have Fun to call at Nottingham Motorpoint Arena
Grammy winning rock and roll band Kings of Leon are coming to Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on their 2024 world tour.
The multi-award winning Nashville band, best known for their platinum-selling records including Sex On Fire and Use Somebody, has not played in the UK since 2021, and is bringing their Can We Please Have Fun tour to Nottingham on July 8.
It follows the announcement of the brand new Kings of Leon album of the same name, to be released on May 10.
The show is one of a few select dates where they will be joined by special guests The Vaccines. The indie rockers join the tour off the back of their 6th album of blistering pop rock.
Since their debut in 2003, Kings of Leon have released eight albums, and sold more than 20 million albums and nearly 40 million singles worldwide.
The band has won three Grammy Awards, three NME Awards, two BRIT Awards, one Juno Award and toured all over the world, playing at stadiums and arenas and headlining major festivals including Glastonbury, Coachella, Lollapalooza and Reading and Leeds on three separate occasions.
Can We Please Have Fun is a document of the band cutting loose, trying new things, and having some fun.
Recorded at Dark Horse studio and produced with new collaborator Kid Harpoon, the album sees the band hark back to their gritty origins, while simultaneously finding new gears, freed from any expectations.
“It’s like we allowed ourselves to be musically vulnerable,” drummer Nathan added.
“I love it when a rock band is not embarrassed to admit that every song doesn’t have to be on 11.”
Guitarist and vocalist Caleb said it was the most enjoyable record he’d ever been a part of, and added: “When you have a band, there’s a bond like no other, and when you have family, you have a bond like no other.
“We have both of those things. I thought, if we put all our energy toward something, who is gonna stop us? Who can stop us except us?”
