A charity singing event is to raise funds for the East Africa hunger crisis appeal.

The Cranmer Company of Singers and director of music, Deborah Davies, will host the Come and Sing event at Bottesford Parish Church on Friday, April 18.

The concert will be from Karl Jenkins’ Mass for Peace, the Choral Suite from The Armed Man.

The Cranmer Company of Singers are hosting another charity Come and Sing event.

This copany’s popular Come and Sing events see time and talents freely given, and has at previous events raised up to £2,409 with more than 190 singers taking part.

The public are invited to bring their voices, bring their friends, and have a good time while raising money for Tearfund’s appeal.

Karl Jenkins’ Mass for Peace is a firm favourite with choirs and audiences the world over, with over 3,000 performances since its premiere.

It reflects on the passing of ‘the most war-torn and destructive century in human history’ and looks forward in hope to a more peaceful future.

The organist for the concert will be Elizabeth Harwood, and the conductor Deborah Davies.

Those who wish to sing can choose to donate £6, £10 or £15, and donations will be collected on the door from the audience.

A rehearsal will be held at 4.30pm, and singers should arrive earlier to register, with the charity performance at 7.30pm.

Book a place to sing by contacting Heather on heather@ng7.org.uk or 0115 947 4759.
