After storming the stage for a huge tour announcement, Busted and McFly are set to go head to head in a tour branded ‘one of the most highly anticipated’ of 2025.
Pop rock legends Busted stormed the stage at McFly’s sold out 21st birthday headline show at the O2 Arena in London last night (Wednesday, October 9) announce the bands will be going head to head on tour together.
The Busted vs McFly Tour will see the two groups visit some of the UK’s biggest and best venues — including Nottingham’s Motorpoint Arena on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
Tickets for the tour go on sale via artist pre-sale from 9am on October 16, and general tickets are on sale from 9am on October 18.
McFly, made up of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Harry Judd and Dougie Poynter, said: “Busted gatecrashed our show last night (not cool), and challenged us to a VS tour next year. They’re old men now, and we are gonna blow them and their carers off the stage next year. We’ve had a great time celebrating our 21st birthday this week and next year is going to be even better — p.s. Busted suck.”
Busted, made up of Charlie Simpson, Matt Willis and James Bourne, added: There’s been a lot of talk recently. This is where the talking ends…. we are ready to show who is the better band once and for all. McFly suck and Busted rock.”
It’s been over 20 years since both bands formed.
Busted first bounced into the charts with the irrepressible pop-punk energy of their debut single ‘What I Go To School For’, which kickstarted a succession of hits including ‘Crashed The Wedding’,‘Who’s David’, ‘Thunderbirds Are Go’, and ‘You Said No’
McFly’s breakthrough hit ‘Five Colours In Her Hair’ led to seven number one singles including ‘Obviously’, ‘Star Girl’ and ‘All About You’.
