Month full of comedy, music and dance at the Palace Theatre, Newark
A fascinating line-up of musicians, dancers and entertainers are coming to the Newark stage this February — with something for everyone at the town centre venue.
Kicking off the jam-packed month is one for Dire Straits fans, as Money for Nothing will recreate the distinct sounds of the iconic group, featuring all their legendary hits, and soaring guitar solos, performed by a talented band on February 6.
Then, the annual fundraising event of the Newark Twinning association, Last Night of the Proms, will celebrate 40 years of friendship with Emmendingen, Germany, on February 8.
Prepare for a blend of music and magic with The Everly Brothers by Candlelight — which could be the perfect Valentines Day treat.
The magical evening will bathe the beautiful theatre in candlelight, as audiences settle in to enjoy the timeless hits of the golden age of Rock and Roll, with two beautiful acoustic guitars and the stunning vocal harmonies of the Everly Brothers.
The BAFTA nominated author, activist, performer and Sunday Times number one best seller Lemn Sissay will be next to take to the stage in Newark with this brand-new show, on February 20. With the unique chance to pepper Lemn with questions, this thought provoking and entertaining show on the power of creativity can’t be missed.
Rowan Cozens, portfolio holder for heritage, culture and the arts at Newark and Sherwood District Council, said: “The Palace Theatre is the perfect place for entertainment for the whole family and February promises to be a month jam-packed full of comedy, live shows, concerts and more. If you’re looking for a show that will captivate you or your loved ones, there is sure to be something for anybody on offer at The Palace Theatre this month.”
The theatre also has something to captivate little ones, as Fireman Sam The Great Camping Adventure is set to be a perfect show for all the family, as he saves the day on February 22.
For those into dance, there’s a chance to catch Tap Factory back in the UK with its 10th Anniversary Tour. Eight dancers will deliver a electrifying display of high-energy dance, explosive percussion, and jaw-dropping acrobatics, with live music and mesmerizing choreography on February 27.
The Liverpool-born tribute to the Fab Four will also be back with an all-new show for 2025. The Mersey Beatles will be at the venue on February 28, and will deliver a special 60th anniversary celebration of The Beatles’ seminal 1965 albums Help!, Rubber Soul and their Shea Stadium concert.
