Review: Death Cab For Cutie launch UK tour at Rock City, Nottingham
American rock band Death Cab For Cutie filled the venue at Nottingham’s Rock City to a brilliant performance of their latest album at the start of their UK tour.
The atmosphere across the room was matchless as the crowd sang along song after song.
The band, formed in 1997 in Washington performed their latest album, Asphalt Meadows but couldn’t leave behind some of their most famous hits, including Crooked Teeth and The Sound of Settling.
The moment the whole band left the stage and the lead songwriter Benjamin Gibbard grabbed an acoustic guitar to perform the band’s most well-known song, I Will Follow You Into The Dark, the audience went insane.
The band mesmerised the fans with an incredible stage presence and music better live than on any music streaming platforms.
Death Cab fFor Cutie have performed and filled venues for over 20 years and it is safe to say that each of their concerts delivers exactly what people want — a moment to forget the world outside and enjoy the present through music and a rollercoaster of emotions through each song.
The band’s new album is their tenth studio album and includes the singles Foxglove Through The Clearcut, Here To Forever and Roman Candles.
It was impossible to not look around and see people enjoying themselves. It was one of those times that people wish they could freeze time and go back repeatedly. — MT
