Review: Jordan Productions’ Snow White pantomime at Newark Palace Theatre

The tale of Snow White at Newark Palace theatre played out with lot of laughs and loads of traditional panto fun.

The Jordan Productions’ show was filled with dazzling song and dance, eclectic costumes and jokes so bad you can’t help but laugh.

While not the title character, hilarious Herbie the Huntsman (Dave Bibby) is perhaps the star of the show as he takes the audience along on a wicked adventure from the palace to the dark forest in a bid to outwit the evil Queen Narcissia (Anna Stolli).

Dame Dolly (Mark Siney) offers endless entertainment in numerous dresses, each more outrageous than the last.

There’s a particularly funny rendition of the 12 Days of Christmas, a snowstorm, a balloon big enough to fit a person and plenty of jokes for the adults in the audience.

In the title role is Cait O’Malley, who is a perfect choice for Snow White as she lends a beautiful voice to the role.

Finishing up the main cast is Ben Boskovic as the charming Prince Simon of Sofaria, who came from so, so far away.

The talented dancers of the ensemble and junior ensemble are captivating as they bring the bustling scenes to life, and master physical comedy as the hilarious seven gnomes.

All in all, true love conquers all and there’s a perfect fairy tale ending.

Snow White runs at Newark Palace Theatre until December 31, and its sure to get the whole family into the Christmas spirit.
