Ross Noble brings his show to Grantham

Madcap comedian Ross Noble brings his unique brand of improvised comedy to the Meres Leisure Centre, Grantham, on Saturday.

It is part of the Geordie funnyman’s huge Brain Dump tour.

Noble has been performing stand-up comedy for more than 20 years, and is as busy as ever, performing across the globe as well as fronting a host of television series and appearing on panel shows such as Have I Got News For You.

His improvised brand of whimsical storytelling has built up a huge, loyal following of fans.

In keeping with his off-beat humour, the title of his tour came from Amazon.

He said: “I got it from a customer review on Amazon for one of my DVDs. They wrote, ‘This is just like a massive brain dump,’ and I thought: ‘Oh yeah, that’s exactly what my stuff is! I’ll have that.’”

Despite the improvised nature of his stand-up, Noble does not think he is taking a risk with his shows.

“The risk is all relative. It’s like driving a car. After 25 years you don’t get in a car and go, ‘what if this goes wrong?’ If you hit a few bumps in the road you just think: Oh, this is fun, let’s bounce around for a bit.

“I’ve built up this really loyal audience, there’s more of a shorthand. When I first started, if I was talking about something a bit left-field people would go, ‘Oh god, where’s he going with this?’ Whereas now that’s what people want, they go, ‘Oh right! Where’s he going with this!?’”

His show at Grantham, which starts at 8pm, is suitable for 15s and over.
