Southwell Minster announces a full season of lunchtime recitals

The lunchtime series of free music recitals at Southwell Minster has a full season for 2024.

The 21 recitals for next year include a range of events, from folk music, to jazz, to chamber music, song recitals and barbershop.

The first recital is on January 19 when singers from the Minster School will be celebrating the centenary of the Walt Disney Studios with songs from the films.

There will also be a celebration of the centenary of Henry Mancini on April 19, when his songs and saxophone pieces will include Moon River and The Pink Panther Theme; and – fittingly on November 22, St Cecilia’s (patron saint of music) Day - a recital by Mariatu Kanneh-Mason, cellist from the famous musical Kanneh-Mason family.
