The Jungle Book to be staged at New Theatre Royal, Lincoln, from April 8 to 16

It is third time lucky for the New Theatre Royal, Lincoln, as it finally goes ahead with its Easter pantomime.

The Jungle Book will be staged from April 8 to 16, after being cancelled for the past two years because of covid.

The show features some familiar faces, including Chris Johnson who stars as the Monkey King and Kaa, and will also be credited for writing the script.

Chris is best known as CBBC’s Yonko and appeared on several BBC Bitesize and BBC Live Lessons to assist home-schooling throughout 2020-21.

Chris is no stranger to the New Theatre Royal after appearing in every Christmas and Easter pantomime since Cinderella in 2016.

When asked about the show, Chris said: “The jungle is jumping… finally. We’ve crafted a tale of family, community and sticking up for what is right, featuring characters you know and love. I can’t wait to share our show with Lincoln’s gorgeous audiences (and maybe wolf down a few Easter eggs at the same time).”

Chris will be joined by Michelle Morris, best known on television for The Knock, Doctor Who and Endeavour, who will get her wicked claws out as Shere Khan.

After starring as Humphrey Battenburg in the theatre’s 2021 Christmas Pantomime, Beauty And The Beast, Chris Hayes returns as Baloo Bear.
