Parody Not: Lady Chatterley's Lover takes to stage at Newark Palace Theatre

A parody of a DH Lawrence classic novel promises to bring high drama, high comedy and highly-raised eyebrows to Newark’s Palace Theatre.

Not: Lady Chatterley’s Lover is performed on Sunday, telling the tale of Lady Chatterley’s passionate affair with Mellors, the estate gamekeeper.

It is a saucy take on the original story, with some added surprise twists.

The show has an age guidance of 16 and over.

Also at the Palace next week is That’ll Be The Day.

The feelgood show returns to the venue a week tomorrow as part of its 35th anniversary celebration tour.

Unashamedly nostalgic, the show takes its audience on a rollercoaster ride through the golden age of rock and roll and pop.

The music is accompanied by impersonations and comedy routines.

Former politician Michael Portillo gives a talk at the Palace on Saturday, October 23, at 7pm.

Since his political career came to an end in 1997, Michael has reinvented and endeared himself to many with his obvious respect for the solid workmanship found in the great railways of the world and their effect on countries’ histories and the daily lives of their people.

In his show, Life: A Game Of Two Halves, he reflects in his two very different careers.
