Whip crackin’ musical classic Calamity Jane starring Carrie Hope Fletcher to visit Theatre Royal, Nottingham

A whip-crackin’ production of hit musical Calamity Jane is heading to town — with a West End star at the helm.

The revival of The Watermill Theatre’s Broadway and West End hit will visit the Theatre Royal, Nottingham, from Tuesday, March 25, to Saturday, March 29.

Multi-award-winning West End star Carrie Hope Fletcher will star as the fearless, gun slinging Calamity Jane. She’s the biggest mouth in Dakota territory and always up for a fight — but can turn on the charm when trying to win the heart of the dashing Lieutenant Gilmartin or shooting insults at the notorious Wild Bill Hickok.

When the men of Deadwood fall hard for Chicago stage star Adelaid Adams, Calamity struggles to keep her jealousy holstered — but who’s her heart thumping for?

Based on the much-loved Doris Day movie, the foot-stomping new production features all the sure-fire classic songs including The Deadwood Stage (Whip-Crack-Away), The Black Hills of Dakota, Just Blew in from the Windy City, and the Oscar-winning Secret Love.

The latest tour marks ten years since the West End and Broadway favourite hit the road, and it reunites the previous creative team for the musical comedy classic.
