Forestry England Sherwood Pines cafe congratulated by Newark and Sherwood District Council after being awarded Breastfeeding Friendly Certificate




A cafe at a popular Nottinghamshire tourist attraction has received a breastfeeding friendly certificate.

The cafe at Sherwood Pines has been praised and rewarded for providing a welcoming and positive environment for breastfeeding mothers with an official certification.

Newark and Sherwood District Council — who work with Nottinghamshire Healthcare NHS Trust and Nottinghamshire County Council to award the accreditation — congratulated Sherwood Pines and Forestry England for receiving the certificate.

Café manager Lauren Pickering, said: "To receive this award means a lot to us as a local business within the area, we will always strive to support new mums and families when visiting us here at Sherwood Pines.

"I am grateful to see our fantastic café team have been recognised for their great customer service skills and always going above and beyond to make sure everyone’s experience is warm and welcoming when visiting us."

The public can pick up a drink or stop and have lunch at the cafe before enjoying one of the most popular green spaces in the region with peaceful walks, bike trails through scenic woodland and the Go Ape tree top challenge rope for the more daring.

Venues across the district can apply to become a breastfeeding friendly environment and support mums in public spaces.
