A1 at Long Bennington reopened following crash between two lorries which causes two miles of queues and traffic delays




The A1 has now fully reopened following a crash between two lorries earlier this morning.

One lane on the sounthbound carriageway was closed earlier today following the collision near to Long Bennington.

It was later confirmed by a cyclist who experience a near miss in the incident, that the crash took place by the Dry Doddington junction.

Police attended the scene where a lorry had collided with another that was pulling out of a layby.

Photos of the incident show damage to the cab of one lorry and lorry in a field after crashing through a hedge.

The collision and lane closure led to two miles of slow-moving traffic and long delays on the A1 heading southbound as well as congestion on the B6326 as traffic tried to avoid the area.
