A1 road closure for resurfacing and road marking to take place between Newark and Long Bennington

A diversion will be in place when a section of the A1 is closed for road maintenance later this month.

The A1 southbound from the A46 junction at Newark to the Marston Toll Bar junction just prior to Gonerby Moor will be closed overnight on May 15 from 8pm to 6am.

The closure will allow for road re-surfacing and road marking works to take place.

There will be no access to the A1 southbound carriageway from any slip road between these locations either.

A diversion will take traffic via the A46 southbound to Bingham and then the A52 eastbound to Barrowby in order to re-join the A1.

Any traffic wishing to join the A1 from any slip road between Newark and Marston Toll Bar will be diverted A1 northbound to join the main diversion at the A46 junction.
