Advertiser Readers’ Letters: Another winter of anxiety

In the past you have featured the progress of installing flood prevention in Southwell. We live in the main area of flood risk and will benefit from the measures proposed by Nottinghamshire County Council.

We understand that planning permission has been granted for the work. We now discover that more archaeology will take place this year and the prevention work will not start until 2026.

This means residents will have to endure another winter of anxiety.

We have been waiting 12 years for the work to be done.
