Newark Advertiser reader letters: Are traffic lights a cheaper answer?

I know a lot of modelling will have been done to work out the best way to improve traffic flow on the A46 Newark Bypass but I can’t help thinking a cheaper alternative is available that would also be a quick fix.

Most of the traffic problems along that stretch are caused by vehicles queuing to get on Farndon roundabout and the Cattlemarket Roundabout at Newark.

So, wouldn’t traffic lights on each of those junctions improve congestion without the need for such an expensive scheme? — S. Brown, Newark.
