Beer and carols events, held at Malt Cross, Nottingham, raise over £800 for YMCA’s Christmas Pledge Campaign
Hundreds of pounds have been raised for charity through festive nights at a city pub.
Nottingham’s iconic Victorian music hall, Malt Cross, hosted a series of Beer and Carols night throughout December, bringing people together to celebrate the season and give back to the local community.
Held across four evenings, the events combined great food, lively carol singing, and generous donations — raising over £800 to support local YMCA community programmes.
These funds will help to provide vital services to vulnerable young people and families across Nottinghamshire.
Each evening began with a two-course festive feast, and was followed by the carol singing and live music, which was free for all to attend.
Travelling up from Devon to take part, attendee Paul Taylor, said: “The whole evening was just perfect, a fantastic way to create lasting memories with family and friends.”
The YMCA’s Christmas campaign was also highlighted during the events, with the community invited to pledge their support by donating essential items such as food, clothing, and gifts, or by making monetary contributions.
The campaign aims to support young people and families in the care of YMCA during what can be a challenging time of year.
“The support we received this year has been fantastic,” said Joe Piliero, executive director of hospitality, YMCA Robin Hood.
“We’re thrilled that we were able to bring people together for such fun nights, all while raising funds for an important cause. It’s a perfect example of how the Malt Cross continues to play a pivotal role in supporting our local community.”
