Nottinghamshire county councillor Debbie Darby calls for Strawberry Hall Lane, Newark, which has 32 potholes, to be fully resurfaced
There are calls for a full resurfacing after 32 potholes were identified along a short stretch of road.
The potholes on Strawberry Hall Lane, Newark were reported to Via East Midlands by county councillor Debbie Darby who said that many of them have been there for well over a year.
She previously referred to Nottinghamshire County Council as the worst graffiti artists in Newark, as highways workers spray paint around potholes to mark them for repair.
Councillor Darby said: “The state of Strawberry Hall Lane is diabolical. There are as many potholes on a small part of the road as counties in Ireland.
"I have repeatedly asked the county council to expedite my request for a full resurface job on this whole, simply dangerous, road.
"I’ve said before that Nottinghamshire County Council are the biggest graffiti artists in Newark. Potholes sprayed are often just left to get worse and if this road is not fixed by Monday, I will be reporting their graffiti to Newark and Sherwood as an environmental crime."
Every year, county councillors are asked for their top three resurfacing priorities. Strawberry Hall Lane was highlighted by councillor Darby in December.
Patch repairs have been requested following recent bad weather which has caused the road surface to deteriorate further.
