Barchester’s Edingley Lodge Care Home holds Valentine’s Day themed charity fete in support of Beaumond House Hospice Care
A care home had been spreading the love this Valnetine’s Day by holding a themed charity fete.
Staff, residents, relatives and members of the community came together at Barchester’s Edingley Lodge care home to enjoy a Valentine’s Fete during which money was raised for Beaumond House Hospice Care in Newark.
A variety of activities took place throughout the day, including, raffles, tombola, guess the teddy’s name, a bake sale, stalls, music and refreshments.
Beaumond House’s fundraising team were also welcomed and managed to £120.
Staff said they were delighted to see different generations having fun together, and the care home has built up a reputation for its community involvement and special events and activities for residents.
Resident, Barbara, said, “I thoroughly enjoyed it.
“I was surrounded by lots of great people, and the refreshments kept flowing. Staff did a great job, not just on the day, but organising the event and getting everyone together.”
Jilu Stephen, general manager at the home, said: “Staff at Edingley Lodge are dedicated to making sure that the home is a hub of the local community, and this event, along with all their hard work, has definitely paid off.
“It was a resounding success.”
