Cloned van spotted in Newark seized and licenceless driver reported by Nottinghamshire Police's roads policing unit




A cloned van was spotted in Newark yesterday and followed by the roads policing unit.

Team 2 of Nottinghamshire Police's roads policing unit (RPU) was in the Newark area when a proactive police officer spotted a cloned van.

The officer requested the expertise of the RPU who followed the van into Lincoln where the driver decided to park up and suffer the consequences.

Although the van was cloned, it was not stolen but did not have any insurance.

The driver was also found to be driving without licence or insurance.

A number of dangerous faults were found with the van, with the most dangerous offences being put to the driver including a bald tyre.

The driver was reported for all of the offences and the vehicle was seized and prohibited.
