Cockpit-Fest 22 about to touch down Newark Air Museum
Newark Air Museum is due to host Cockpit-Fest 22 in its more traditional June time-slot after it was moved during the pandemic.
Preparations are underway for the 2022 Cockpit-Fest which takes place on Saturday, June 25-26, at Newark Air Museum.
The event brings together like-minded enthusiasts to display their aircraft cockpit sections at the museum.
Cockpit-Fest has become a fixture on the aviation calendar and each year attracts many visiting cockpits and associated displays allowing owners the chance to display their prized exhibits to their fellow enthusiasts and the general public.
A diverse range of aviation will be represented at this year’s event, including military jet cockpits and civilian types. Several of the on-loan cockpits that reside at the museum will also feature, alongside several that will be displayed for the very first time.
Visitors will be encouraged to have a say in deciding which is the best cockpit by voting on their favourite display, with prizes awarded to the winners.
Cockpit-Fest also attracts other visiting displays of history and military vehicle groups, re-enactors, and even more aviation-related displays such as clothing and historical artefacts.
In addition, a diverse range of visiting cockpit-related exhibits are also expected to be displayed around the 16-acre site; alongside an aviation and avionics boot-sale where enthusiasts and the public can search out and purchase aviation artefacts, books and models.
When Cockpit-Fest isn’t on, Newark Air Museum remains one of the largest volunteer-managed aviation museums in Great Britain with 76 aircraft and cockpits, and four covered display areas open 361 days a year.
