Advertiser reader’s letter: Concerns over safety cameras
Published: 05:00, 29 March 2025
I’d like to thank the road safety people for installing average speed cameras from Newark to Mansfield on the A617.
Today, I drove from my home 300metres from King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield, to work on Brunel Drive in Newark and the average speed was 38mph at 5.30am.
There was traffic as far as the eye can see in front and behind.
While the do gooders will have saved on road traffic collisions, God help anyone in need of urgent care at King’s Mill Hospital.
Can you just imagine the chaos of an ambulance trying to get through to Mansfield?
They have just made Newark a less attractive place to live or work. — N. SHEPPARD, Mansfield.
