Newark musician Maliciou$ releases debut album Sinking Feeling

A rapper has released his debut album after finding his confidence in music.

Sinking Feeling is the debut album from Newark rapper Maliciou$ ­— Levi Hebblethwaite ­— and is available now on all major online music platforms.

The 22-year-old musician began making music around five years ago after years of dabbling.

Featuring 14 track and interludes, Maliciou$ explained how his latest release told a story. He said: “Every musician has aspirations to gain fame but it’s sink or swim and that’s what this album is about.

“Sometimes putting pen to pad is hard, but me and a mate got to together in a studio and just started messing about. I finally found my confidence.

“There are hundreds and thousands of others out there and it can be really hard, but hopefully we can all inspire each other to fight for our dreams.”

The artist plays several instruments and described himself as a big fan of punk and rock but ultimately rap is what his talents landed.

Levi also has plans for the future. He said: “At the start of next year I’ll hopefully start performing live.

“I’ve lived in Newark my whole life so at the moment I’m looking ahead to take part in the Newark Festival and also having my music played on Newark radio.

“Once I have a little experience around town I’d like to expand into places like Lincoln and Nottingham.”
