The Climbing Centre at the YMCA Village, on Lorde Hawk Way, Newark, hosts BMC Youth Climbing Series
Some of the country’s best climbers reached their peaks in a competition held in Newark.
The Climbing Centre at the YMCA Village, on Lorde Hawk Way, played host to the BMC Youth Climbing Series last weekend
Hundreds of young climbers, climbers aged eight to 17, from across the country descended for a thrilling day of climbing, showcasing talent, determination, and passion, with the aim of advancing through the regional rounds of the BMC Youth Climbing Series.
Luke Mansfield, YMCA Climbing Manager, said: “Hosting the BMC Youth Climbing Series here at the YMCA Climbing Centre has been a real privilege.
“The energy and passion from these young climbers have been inspiring, and the atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic.
“We’re incredibly grateful to our team and volunteers for making it happen.”
The YMCA Climbing Centre, which opened in October 2022, offers high quality facilities for all ages and abilities.The National Indoor Climbing Award Scheme accredited classes also offer new climbers the perfect opportunity to learn and refine their skills.
Amanda Reed, whose daughter Aggie competed, said: “What a fantastic day, the YMCA is a great setting, it’s been a really supportive environment and so good to see all these children climbing so brilliantly.”
