Children’s Bereavement Centre raise over £3,000 with charity firewalk fundraiser, thanks to UK Firewalk, at Fernwood Village Hall




A group of fantastic fundraisers have completed a firewalk in support of a beloved charity.

With help from UK Firewalk, the Children’s Bereavement Centre held a firewalk fundraiser where individuals we able to walk bare foot across burning hot coals outside Fernwood Village Hall.

Over 15 brave participants ticked off the bucket list activity as they made three tense crossings over 10m long walk, as flames licked around their feet.

Together they helped to raise a total profit of £3,219.30 for the charity, which supports young people coping with the loss or terminal diagnosis of a loved one.

Clair Spindley, fundraising and events assistant, said it was “a wonderful amount of money to raise for the charity and will have a huge impact on us.”

She added: “We had an excellent evening and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves.”

Just £10 allows to centre to buy a support bear to provide comfort for a child, and £200 helps pay for eight weeks of counselling.

Now, the charity are already planning ahead with a number of fundraising event next year including the popular Duck Race and charity ball, as well as a charity skydive and golf days, and many more.
