McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd have submitted a planning application to Newark and Sherwood District Council for retail unit on London Road, Newark, next to the Odeon Cinema




A fast food chain has submitted plans for an empty town retail space.

McDonald’s Restaurants Ltd have submitted a planning application to Newark and Sherwood District Council for Unit 1, at 23 London Road in Newark.

Located next to the Odeon Cinema, the retail unit has been empty for some time.

The company are seeking advertising consent to install two internally illuminated fascia signs at the location.

The proposed signs are listed as the classic ‘Golden Arch’ McDonald’s logo, made of yellow acrylic and affixed to grey fascia boarding.

The other will be another ‘Golden Arch’ and 'McDonald’s' lettering, to be made out of yellow and white acrylic, and attached directly to brickwork on the first floor.

No further planning applications have been made at this stage.

McDonald’s have been approached for comment.
