  Funny. I suggested that Newark clowncil Have a policy of keeping Places like McDonald's away from town and that As Long as these companies are made to pay for Little cleaning and Policing (As there is always trouble at McDonald's in my experience) then It is a positive step.

  Good news, the food is ok in moderation, town needs this, Lincoln road only accessible by car, this may improve footfall to this end of town too. And most of all it's likely to stay in business, we have seen too many niche businesses enthusiastically opened up and quietly closed within a year.

  What the actual hell! We literally have a McDonald's 6 minutes down the road minus traffic! IV heard of multiple ones in huge towns but Newark isn't a huge town it's medium at the best ..that's just a stupid idea would have been better for a different business yet again huge company's being greedy ...wouldn't surprise me if Kfc buys a empty unit in the centre soon!

  There will now be a trail of Mcchicken sandwiches wrappers running from restaurant to the Hawtonville estate. Luckily I don't live in that area or the connecting roads, but I suspect certain residents will be picking up the brown McDonald's bags daily. Whilst not opposed to them taking up this empty shop, something needs to be done to deter littering. Perhaps a suspension of all benefits payments to households of litterers for 3/6 months would sort this out.

  A good idea. A company willing to take on an empty building and offer more jobs in the area must be a good thing surely. Enough of us come on here complaining of empty buildings around the town centre. This will also cut out journeys for people who have to drive out to the one on lincoln Road which in turn cuts out emissions in the area.

  Not a McDonald's eater , however the location choice is correct, but do have concerns about the litter issues , but will a little more litter really do much harm !!
  Lots of Anti Social Behavioural louts are available louts to clear up, maybe give them a free meal as reward.
