Newark Advertiser reader letters: Frustration at bank closure
I think it’s wrong that a bank like Natwest should close just because the majority of people do online banking.
What about the older generation who rely on the bank and don't have access to online banking? My mother was absolutely stressed out. She is 91 and has been a loyal customer for over 60 years.
When I need to put cash into the bank from my business how will I do this? Online banking limits you the amount you can deposit so are they changing this.
Why don’t they open a smaller premises to enable people to speak to someone face to face with any concerns and carry out any other business transactions required.
Also not forgetting the staff — job losses again.
Newark will not be a nice market town as once known, it’s dead and will be if this carries on. — P. Watkins, via email.
