National Garden Scheme open gardens in at Norwell and Ossington House in the Newark area, Nottinghamshire




Celebrate summer by visiting a National Garden Scheme open garden this weekend.

This Sunday, June 30, a selection of gardens will be opening up to the public, providing garden lovers with a great day out and inspiration to take home.

Norwell Gardens (NG23 6JX) will be hosting a group village opening from 1pm to 5pm.

This is the 28th year that the quintessentially English countryside village of Norwell has opened up its gardens.

Visitors will be able to tour the village allotments, parish gardens and a garden and nursery of national renown.

Four village gardens showing the diversity that can be achieved in the cottage garden style, as well as the Medieval church and churchyard are also open.

Ossington House, on Moorhouse Road in Ossington (NG23 6LD) will be open from 2pm to 5 pm.

The Vicarage garden, redesigned in 1960 and again in 2014, will featuring with sweeping lawns, formal beds and terraces.

Herbaceous perennials, roses and kitchen garden are all highlights, alongside a woodland walk with mature trees and shady planting with masses of astrantia, and ferns.

Parking and wheelchair access is available at both locations, as well as plant sales and refreshments.
