Newark Advertiser reader letters: Hear, hear... focus on work

I could not agree more with A Moore on last week’s letters page (Grow Up And Leave Petty Quarrels Behind).

While it is sometimes quite entertaining to watch as the councillors’ online rows develop, it does underline an immaturity that is currently prevailing in local politics.

I have always firmly believed that party politics should play no role at local authority level.

Every individual elected to a local council is there to represent local people for the good of the local area.

Everyone should be working together to achieve the very best outcome for Newark and Sherwood.

Sadly, we currently have too many individuals sitting on council who seem to have forgotten that and seem to be more focused on petty party quabbles. — R. MILLER, via email.
