Grade two listed The Ossington on Beastmarket Hill, Newark, formerly Zizzi’s restaurant, under offer with Fisher Hargreaves Proctor Ltd.
One of Newark’s most eye-catching landmark buildings is under offer after standing empty for years.
The Ossington on Beastmarket Hill, Newark is under offer with agents, Fisher Hargreaves Proctor Ltd.
The grade two listed building had previously been occupied by Zizzi’s, however has remained empty since the Italian restaurant chain pulled out of the town in August 2020.
Now it is under offer from what is described as a ‘good quality, independent leisure operator’, with legals close to completion.
A short walk from the town centre and with parking on The Wharf or at Riverside Park, the building comes equipped with a fitted bar and restaurant area and features a large west facing patio overlooking the River Trent, with views of Newark Castle.
Originally a teahouse built in 1882 for the Viscountess Ossington — whom lends her name to the building — it has since been used as a hotel and restaurant.
The Ossington is complete with adjoining garden walls and terrace, used as an outdoor dining area, and a summerhouse.
