Sherwood Forest Hospitals, operator of Newark and King's Mills hospitals, confirms two executive appointments
Two new directors have been appointed to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Trust which runs Newark and King’s Mill hospitals.
Richard Mills will become the trust’s chief financial officer while Robert Simcox is director of people.
The appointments were confirmed at a public meeting of the trust’s board of directors.
Richard Mills replaces Paul Robinson, who has stepped up to become chief executive.
He will be responsible for overseeing the financial sustainability of the trust, taking an active role in system-wide partnership working as they move into a new era of statutory integrated care systems.
He has more than 15 years’ experience in NHS finance, including as the trust’s deputy chief financial officer before becoming its interim chief financial officer in October 2021.
Robert Simcox takes over from Claire Teeney who has joined University Hospitals of Leicester.
Robert has been with Sherwood Forest Hospitals as its deputy director of people since April 2016 and will now lead the trust’s people directorate, which is aimed at supporting the trust’s workforce.
Paul Robinson said: “I am delighted to welcome both Richard and Robert into their new roles.
“Their appointments recognise the exceptional work they have done to ensure that our hardworking staff and volunteers here at Sherwood Forest Hospitals are properly supported to provide the best possible care to the patients and communities we serve.”
